How meditation boosts your immunity

In a raging pandemic, everyone’s focus is on how to improve their immune system. Before we get all excited, we need to understand that our immune system, like all other wonderful human physiological systems, is incredibly intricate and complex. Those who try to sell magical cures and pills for improving immunity need to be very careful.

At Sahaja, our primary goal is to use meditation as a catalyst for improving our overall health and well-being and not for it to be a cure or medical solution by itself. Stress impacts immunity negatively, and there is a lot of scientific evidence to show that meditation boosts immunity. Combined with a host of other benefits, meditation is best used for eliminating several negative impacts on our health, thereby aiding our body to express its full power and potential.

How Holiday Shopping and Spiritual Growth are Related

Shopping is central to our lives and more so for those of us who live in urban and suburban areas. A lot of it is driven by need by these days, much more than that – it can become a way to cope in times like these when our social lives are restricted. Recent research shows some interesting trends.  According to a marketing recent survey,  most consumers will be shopping using their computers and more than half of those surveyed indicated that they will be shopping more on Amazon.

However, with the amount of shopping on a rise, one thing we do not do is to try and understand what shopping can do to our spiritual ascent. Most people think that excessive shopping is a sign of being a shopaholic or indulging in material pursuits. But it’s much beyond that.

COVID-19 and our “inner terrain”

“It is not the germs we need to worry about; it is our inner terrain.”

― Louis Pasteur (1822-1895)

2020 has been the year of SARS-CoV-2, the novel virus belonging to the family of coronaviruses and responsible for a global pandemic manifesting as a severe respiratory disorder known as COVID-19. As this blog is being written, according to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, there are more than 85 million COVID cases Globally, over 20 million in the US alone.

Viruses are some of the most primitive known life forms on the planet, with the ongoing debate about their precise biological placement. Viruses are very interesting in that they can only survive inside a living cell. So they must have a living cell to survive and replicate. Hence they are often considered as ‘organisms at the edge of life’. Like all living organisms, they contain genes and can evolve through natural selection. But they differ in that they lack a cellular structure and cannot maintain a metabolic process or reproduce outside of a host.

However, what’s most interesting to us is the prospect of the availability of tools within us that might indicate our pre-disposition to attacks such as viruses. And Sahaja meditation has a particularly unique and intricate inner subtle energy mechanism, pointing us in this direction.

Meditation should be more than just a New Year Resolution

Happy New Year!

After a brutal 2020 that saw life-changing impacts to so many across the world, it’s time to look forward to a strong and positive 2021.

It’s that time of the year again when we’re looking back on things we missed doing, failed attempts as well as new habits we want to include in our lives. After what’s happened in 2020, the wide-ranging health benefits of Sahaja meditation alone must be reason enough to start practicing or go deeper into this year.

Most people who have something to sell will first try to exploit the New Year Resolution urge in you to lead you to a habit that ultimately results in buying something from them.

At Sahaja, because there’s never anything to buy or sell, we’re going to do the opposite. We’re telling you why something like trying to meditate shouldn’t be just another New Year resolution. That’s despite so many people who try to tell you to make a New Year Resolution to learn to meditate.
